A new portable espresso machine has arrived with a spec sheet that punches well above the typical travel-coffee category. The KAPO K2 Pro, from coffee accessory brand IKAPE, combines a 20-bar pressure pump, a 58mm stainless steel portafilter, Bluetooth app connectivity, and on-board self-heating into a single battery-powered unit. It’s available now on Amazon for $197.99 (down from an MSRP of $219.99).
The 58mm portafilter is the headline detail here. Most portable espresso machines use smaller, proprietary baskets that limit grind compatibility and extraction consistency. A 58mm basket is the standard size found in traditional cafĂ© machines, which means better water distribution across the puck and a more even extraction. Whether the KAPO K2 Pro’s pump can actually hold 20 bars stably throughout a shot is something that’ll need hands-on testing to confirm, but the hardware choice at least suggests IKAPE is aiming at a different buyer than the typical Wacaco or Staresso customer.
Control comes via the HappyGo CERA app over Bluetooth, which lets you adjust water temperature, pressure, and pre-infusion time from your phone. That’s a meaningful differentiator. Pre-infusion control, in particular, has a real impact on extraction quality with lighter roasts and finer grinds, and most portables don’t offer it at all. The machine also supports both hot and cold water brewing, though IKAPE notes it needs a 30W or higher quick-charge adapter (QC 2.0 or PD 3.1) to maintain consistent pump pressure. If you’re grabbing this for travel, that’s an extra cable and adapter to factor in.

A cup of coffee that’s truly to-go
Battery life is listed as “extra-long,” which isn’t a spec that means much without actual shot counts. IKAPE hasn’t published a figure for how many shots per charge you can expect, so take that claim with appropriate skepticism until reviews arrive.
The KAPO K2 Pro fits the space between a manual travel press and a full-sized espresso machine, and the app control and standard portafilter size give it legitimate appeal for home baristas who want something portable without giving up the variables they care about. At $197.99 on sale, it’s not cheap for a device you’d take camping, but it’s positioned against machines like the Wacaco Picopresso ($109) that sacrifice app control and portafilter size for portability.
IKAPE is also selling a set of accessories to accompany the machine: a bottomless calibrated portafilter ($43.99), a triple-spring modular portafilter system ($35.99), and an adjustable needle stirrer for puck prep ($47.99). None are required out of the box, but the stirrer in particular is a useful addition for anyone dialing in grind distribution.
